Colombo Zonal Computer Resource Center has established in the Lumbini Vidyalaya premises since 1998 with 15 computers and a staff of 4 members. Former Provincial Minister Mr. Benette Cooray was initiated to found this center. A classroom had been modified into a lab and lectures were conducted in a store room. Mr. N.D.S Upanada has been appointed as the Center Manger and he is still bearing that position.
All the schools in the Colombo Zone and some leading schools in the island got set to reap the benefits of ICT by enrolling thousands of students annually to follow the courses offered by this institute. Former Chief Minster & Minister of Education Mr. Susil Premajayantha got much enthusiast over the progress of this institute and allocated funds for a 3 storied building. In 2001 the construction of the ground floor of this building completed and the lab had been shifted to the new building.
